Abstract:

Photoinduced electron- and energy transfer are key to the function of many molecular materials particularly in materials for solar energy conversion and molecular electronics. This talk will review some recent results in the field of photoactive polymers designed for low-power frequency up-conversion and photoinduced charge-separation. The latter materials target applications in solar cells and photo-driven redox-catalysis. The presentation will focus on mechanistic spectroscopic studies to detail the key structural and kinetic aspects of the functional materials and suggest strategies to further tailor the materials’ function.
