Welcome to INT

Nanotechnology is regarded as a key technology of the 21st century with manifold potential applications. At the nanometre scale the bottom-up synthesis strategies of chemistry and biology meet up with the top-down structuring techniques of the semiconductor industry, mesoscopic physics, and material sciences. Researchers from experimental- and theory-groups from the Institute of Nanotechnology work together at the interfaces of the disciplines to find answers to important future questions: Is it feasible to store the information in future electronic memory chips in individual molecules? Which nanomaterials could store enough hydrogen to conduct a vehicle? How could you construct perfect lenses with nanostructures? With these new perceptions and other ongoing fields of nanotechnology we want to make a contribution to the scientifical and economical sustainability of Germany.

For your personal information you can download the INT-brochure which introduces into the INT.
